The best of the best.
The sorceress war had left so many people without homes, so many children without their families. Edea had always wanted children, but feared having a daughter, of her daughter being capable of embodiment and the risks that having this unique aspect to them that it entailed. Instead, she opted to open her home to the orphans the war had created so that she may bring them up and give them the chance to live a normal life. Children were sent to her from all over the world and eventually found new homes or moved on to start a new life for themselves, to find their own path in life. Each time one of her children left, her heart broke as any mother's would.
Edea would never forget the day that one of her children had first called her Matron. It was a day that filled her with such pride and love. Squall had been brought to her some months previous, a shy and quiet little boy who had large, inquisitive eyes. He had cried so much when he first came to the orphanage and no matter how much she t
What is life? can it truly be defined by the single cell organisms that make you appear as the person you are? Or is life about those single defining moments that shape our future and our destiny? What makes you who you are? Are you the person you are because you to choose to be? Or are you the result of a series of random events and choices that have led you to that moment in time? A person could go crazy with this train of thought.
The world beyond her window was gloomy and grey, a storm had blown in from the sea, leaving her stuck indoors until it blew over. Just outside her range of hearing, the crackling of the fire could be heard, warming her isolated home by the sea. Edea was curled up on the window seat that had the best view of the light house and the world beyond it, a soft spider web grey blanket was draped around her shoulders, although she wasn't cold, it was merely for comforts sake.
A soft sigh left her lips as she watched the rain make snake like trails on th
Time was such an odd thing, everyone wanted more of it, or for it to stand still completely. How strange it was that every living being on the planet had at one time or another wished that time were doing something different. Time wasn't physical, you couldn't see it, couldn't hear it or touch it, but everyone wanted to possess it in some shape or form.
For Edea, time was another matter altogether. She no longer cared for it, no longer counted away the minutes of her existence. She wished she didn't understand it the way that she did, Ultimecia's mind was consumed by time and her hunger to own it, to call it her own.
Since Ultimecia had relinquished her hold over her, she had returned to her home, the Orphanage she had opened to the lost children of the Sorceress war. All traces of time had been destroyed here, no longer could she hear the insistent ticking of a clock, reminding her that with each tick, her life was slipping away.
She watched as the sun rose over the waters that surrou
A final goodbye
The sky was coloured crimson with the setting of the sun, the waves could be heard lapping gently at the shore in the distance. Edea and Cid had spent many happy times in her orphanage, it was here that the dream of Garden and SeeD was born and where they fell in love and eventually married.
Edea stood in the field of flowers that grew wild by the orphanage, the breeze gently tugged at her clothes and swaying her long ebony hair. She wondered how long she could remain here?Cid placed his hands lightly on her shoulders, inclining her head, she brushed the back of them with her cheek, a small smile appearing on her cupid's bow lips. She turned to him, wrapping her arms around him, how long would it be until she couldn't do this any more? How long until the darkness took hold of her completely?"My love, I'm glad you came." Her voice was soft, barely a whisper as she spoke. He smiled at her, lightly stroking her cheek with his thumb. "You asked me to come, how could I refuse?" She smiled a
